Our Future Depends on Your Support Today
Securing the Chatham Emergency Squad's Future for Our Community
Volunteer EMS agencies across the state are experiencing a decline in volunteers and funding. Some have closed their doors for good. Some are our neighboring towns. The communities left behind are forced to hire full-time staff or contract with outside organizations and charge for services.
Although there is no immediate threat to CES, by addressing the challenge now, we will avoid the same crisis which many of our fellow squads are facing.
Attracting and Retaining the Best Volunteer Squad
After careful consideration, study and planning, CES has determined that modernizing and overhauling our facilities is essential to ensuring our future service to the Chatham community. As an all-volunteer squad, we depend on our ability to attract qualified volunteer EMTs. The current facilities do not accommodate for many of our volunteers’ personal or professional needs, nor do they provide adequate space for our members to efficiently work and train.
By responding to our needs and providing for our volunteers, we will be better equipped to care for you, our neighbors, and community.
Overhauling and Modernizing Our Facilities
The renovations to our building at 31 North Passaic and 45 Spring Street will better leverage and support our volunteers’ time, skill and commitment to the Squad. Necessary upgrades will also create modernized facilities from which our EMTs can continue to provide immediate, skilled and free emergency medical service to the community.
Everyone will benefit from the facilities renovations and enhancements, including our members, neighbors, and you.
